Livingstone Shire Council | Deferred Infrastructure Charges

Livingstone Shire Council has unanimously voted to broaden their current Development Incentives Policy for Reconfiguring a Lot to allow for the payment of infrastructure charges to be deferred for all reconfiguration of lot approvals, not simply large-scale subdivision approvals. The proposed changes mean that smaller subdivision applications can benefit from a deferred payment option.

The Policy will now provide the following payment options:

• For the creation of 2-4 lots, charges are to be paid within one year of gaining the endorsed survey plan from Council or before the applicant ceases to own the relevant lots, whichever comes sooner;
• For the creation of 5 or more lots, charges are to be paid within two years of gaining the endorsed survey plan from Council or before the applicant ceases to own the relevant lots, whichever comes sooner.

This is considered a proactive move from Livingstone Shire Council and will play an important role in facilitating the delivery of approved subdivisions, both small and large, across the Shire.
