Brisbane City Plan Update

Recent Amendments to the Brisbane City Plan 2014

As of 14 September 2018, the following amendments to the Brisbane City Plan 2014 are effective:

Adoption of the following Neighbourhood Plans:

  • Newstead North Neighbourhood Plan
  • Spring Hill Neighbourhood Plan
  • Dutton Park-Fairfield Neighbourhood Plan

In addition to the adoption of these Neighbourhood Plans, various minor amendments have been adopted to reflect a number of development approvals that apply to land across Algester, Bracken Ridge, Bridgeman Downs, Calamvale, Cannon Hill, Carindale, Eight Mile Plains, Enoggera, Fig Tree Pocket, Kenmore, Manly West and Oxley.

It is important to note that in accordance with the Planning Act 2016, a person may ask Council to assess a development proposal under the relevant superseded planning scheme. A superseded planning scheme is created every time a new planning scheme, or planning scheme amendment is adopted. Such a request must be made within one (1) year of the date the planning scheme amendment took effect. In the event that the introduction of a Neighbourhood Plan adversely impacts on the development potential of a property, the superseded planning scheme provisions should be explored.

For more information on the recent amendments and how they may impact on a particular property, contact our office on 3088 2257 or via email at admin@astpd.com.au.
