Originally established in 2008 as ADAMS Planning, ADAMS + SPARKES was formed in 2010. In this time, Director’s Cameron Adams and Pete Sparkes have undertaken work throughout Queensland and New South Wales. We have acted for both public and private sector clients and have extensive experience in the management of development applications on a variety of scales. Our project experience is diverse and includes residential, commercial, retail and mixed use developments, industrial projects and mining and infrastructure projects.

We provide all our clients with direct communication with senior personnel throughout the duration of each project, ensuring prompt and efficient decision making and advice.
Our role is to guide our clients through the development approval process, from the initial feasibility stage, through to approval. We pride ourselves on integrity and professionalism, while providing a fresh and enthusiastic approach towards town planning and development outcomes.
Cameron has been practicing as a private Town Planning consultant since 2003, after relocating from Brisbane in 2005 he has been based on the Sunshine Coast looking after the Toowoomba and Western Queensland operations. In this time, Cameron has gained a comprehensive understanding of the Queensland Planning Legislation, and has worked with local governments throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Cameron is an experienced consultant who has managed a variety of development proposals and worked for a diverse range of public and private sector clients. Cameron is focused on advising and implementing appropriate strategies and concepts to maximise development outcomes.
Pete has been practicing as a Town Planning Consultant in the private sector since 2005, working both on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane. Pete manages the Rockhampton and Central Queensland operations and is particularly familiar with the Development Application process and legislative framework. Having worked on a range of small to very large, complex projects, Pete has provided extensive planning advice to clients who have an interest in commercial, residential, mixed-use, and industrial or infrastructure developments throughout Queensland and parts of New South Wales. Pete is driven by developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with both clients, allied professional consultants, local and state governments departments and agencies.
Michael commenced his Town Planning career in 2012 working across both Local Government and the Private Sector at ADAMS + SPARKES. Due to his broad knowledge of both public and private sectors of Planning, Michael brings an excellent understanding of contemporary planning issues, planning legislation and has built a network of contacts in both local and state government. Michael has experience in dealing with a variety of projects, from managing the Sunshine Coast Solar Farm assessment process to dealing with a range of residential, commercial and industrial projects, across a variety of government areas. Due to experience with a range of complex and simple developments, Michael has the ability to provide professional town planning advice to drive your project from concept to completion.
Michael Harries has been a Town Planner since 2011 and is experienced with a range of projects from dwelling houses, small to large lot subdivisions, unit complexes, industry warehouses and community facilities to name but a few. Michael has well established knowledge in the wider Brisbane area, due to his involvement in many and varied projects. Notably, Michael is very experienced with managing applications with Brisbane City Council and especially the management of applications that meet the SealSMART criteria. Michael is also an accredited RiskSMART consultant with Brisbane City Council, with extensive experience in lodging applications through this process.
Scott Alcorn has more than 22 years experience in the property development industry. Scott assists with the New South Wales operations for ADAMS + SPARKES, while providing assistance on selected projects throughout Queensland. Scott has extensive and practical experience in Business Management, Project Management, Feasibility Analysis, Economic Development, Environmental/Town Planning, Property Advisory and Development Management, and has held a number of senior roles in local and State governments, private consultancies and property development companies across NSW and QLD.
